30 Day Book Challenge: Day 9- Book that makes you sick

I read this book for summer reading a few years ago. It doesn’t make me sick as in, I actually threw up. But it definitely wants to make you throw up, many times.

This book delves deep into the world of American fast food; how it’s made, how much we eat, and why we like it. Why did America spend $110 BILLION dollars on fast food in the year 2000? I am not wholly opposed to fast food, don’t get me wrong. But this is definitely one of those books that is so gross at times that it really makes you want to be a vegetarian.

I am not sure if I would recommend this. If you are slightly interested in the topic then I say go for it. But it is a rather large book, and the information isn’t presented in a way that is overwhelmingly easy to read.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! 😉

  1. I have this sitting on my shelf waiting to read it. I thought I might read it for Lent since I gave up eating out, and I’ve been trying to be a vegetarian for the greater part of a year, but the idea of it freaks me out so I definitely understand.
